MISSOULA, Mont. (UPI) -- A Montana man charged twice in one day by the same police officer with drunken driving added to his troubles by showing up drunk for a court appearance.
Adam Lundgren of Missoula was released to a sober friend after his first arrest Monday, The Missoulian reported. Lundgren, police said, jumped out of his friend's car and went to a bar.
At about 10 p.m., as he was trying to drive home, Lundgren struck the railings on a bridge and took off on foot. Bystanders grabbed him and held him until a police officer arrived -- Cody Lanier, who had already given him one DUI citation.
Lundgren posted $700 bond early Tuesday and went home -- but a municipal judge ordered him back to jail when he allegedly showed up under the influence for his afternoon arraignment.
