Beer prevents serious injury at NHL game
CALGARY, Alberta (UPI) -- A Calgary, Alberta, woman is crediting beer falling on her head at a hockey game with saving her from being crushed by a falling man.
Glennis Bradshaw, 46, was watching a game at the Calgary SaddleDome between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks Saturday night when beer splashing onto her head caused to sit back quickly and look up just a man fell onto her lap from 20 feet above, the Calgary Sun reported.
Police said two men carrying beer on an upper level slipped, and toppled over a railing.
Bradshaw said if the beer hadn't caused her to jump and lean back, the man would have landed on her head, and "we'd be talking about something completely different."
One man fell two rows ahead of Bradshaw, and got up unscathed, but the man who fell on her lap broke his ankle on a seat back and was knocked unconscious briefly.
Bradshaw sustained a deep bruise to her thigh, but told the newspaper she's not planning any lawsuits, as "it's not often young men fall in my lap.
"Thing is, normally I'd like them conscious," she said.

Isabel's Wit
My late Aunt Isabel's wit was legendary in our family. We come from a small town in Connecticut where many roads are so narrow that if a car should stall, the car behind it would be unable to pass.
This is what happened to my aunt one day. While she was trying to restart the engine, the driver in the car behind her began blowing his horn repeatedly. Aunt Isabel set the parking brake, got out of her car and walked over to the driver's window. When he rolled it down, she smiled warmly and said, "I can't seem to get my car started. Would you be kind enough to start it for me? And I'll stay here and blow your horn for you."

Why Parents Drink
A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello?"
"Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
May I talk with him?"
The child whispered, "No," Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"
"Yes,"
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No,"
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman".
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy" whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive. Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed a helicopter," Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle...
"Me."

Dr. Dre to produce films for New Line
News from www.variety.com
New Line has signed music mogul Dr. Dre to a multiyear feature producing deal through his newly minted Crucial Films banner.
Dre, who will co-produce with longtime collaborator Phillip Atwell, plans to focus first on developing dark comedies for the mini-major before moving into other areas, such as horror. He'll be heavily involved in the music side of such projects.
"This is a natural switch for me, since I've directed a lot of musicvideos," Dre told Daily Variety. "And I eventually want to get into directing."
Dre worked with New Line in the past, scoring films including "Set It Off." He credited New Line production prexy Toby Emmerich, who had been head of New Line's music business before moving into his current slot, with persuading him to make the move into features in a manner similar to that of other music-industry heavyweights.

R.I.P. Big Pun ::: Untouchable
R.I.P. Big Pun ::: Untouchable
Seven years ago yesterday, we lost one of hip-hop’s most vibrant and talented members. Big Punisher was an imposing figure, physically and lyrically, who commanded the respect and admiration of countless peers in the late 90’s bling era of hip-hop. The consummate songwriter, Pun possessed a knack for assembling words in a manner that pleased all different types of listeners across the country. It’s rare for an MC with such a heavy lyrical style to have the personality and quality that can actually move a crowd, but Pun pulled it off time and time again with the greatest of ease. Although he died far too soon, Pun left us with a collection of gems that will keep our heads nodding, lips quoting and feet moving long into the future. (Full Story)

R.I.P. Anna Nicole Smith
Straight from People.com
Anna Nicole Smith has died in Florida, her attorney, Ron Rale, confirmed to MSNBC Thursday.
Sources say Smith was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., where she was staying with her companion, Howard K. Stern.
Her 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn Hope, was not with them, sources say, but is being cared for in the Bahamas by the mother of Shane Gibson, a high-ranking Bahamian official who is a close friend of Smith's... (Full Story)

Women and Cats
I've never understood why women love cats.
Cats are independent, they don't listen, they don't come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they're home they like to be left alone and sleep.
In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.

Guys Shopping
In the frozen foods department of our local grocery store, I noticed a man shopping with his son.
As I walked by, he checked something off his list, and I heard him whisper conspiratorially to the child;
"You know, if we really mess this up, we'll never have to do it again."

Wild patterns
The patterns are used to test the level of stress a person can handle. The slower the pictures move, the better your ability of handling stress. Alleged criminals that were tested see them spinning around madly. However, senior citizens and kids see them standing still. None of these images are animated - they are perfectly still.

Job Interview
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Person asked the young Engineer fresh out of MIT, "And what starting salary were you looking for?"
The Engineer said, "In the neighbourhood of $75,000 a year, depending on the benefit's package."
The HR Person said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5-weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every 2 years - say, a red Corvette?"
The Engineer sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?"
And the HR Person said, "Certainly, ...but you started it."

Wisconsin police chief tickets himself $235
Top cop pays fine, docks himself 4 points on license after traffic violation
KEWASKUM, Wis. -- Police Chief Richard Knoebel says he wasn’t about to take the easy way out when he accidentally drove past a stopped school bus with its emergency lights flashing.
For violating traffic laws, Knoebel wrote himself a ticket for $235, docked himself four points on his driving record and paid the fine the next day.
It happened in September but didn’t make news until after the fine appeared in court records and was reported by a West Bend newspaper.
Knoebel says he doesn’t mind getting the belated attention, if it serves to raise awareness.
“If it brings notice to people that they should be stopping for school buses, I don’t mind the notoriety,” he said.
He said he was on patrol on four-lane U.S. 45 when he was distracted by a stopped dump truck. He saw a car coming from behind and thought it might hit the truck, so he moved to pass the truck before he saw the stopped school bus in the far lane.
He said he didn’t realize he had passed the bus until it was too late.

Classic Golf Ball Prank
Take one Land Cruiser, about three thousand golf balls and a friend who is late for work and what do you get? A classic April fools day prank. Where do you get this many golf balls and who had to clean that mess up? Regardless this is a great gag. Other hilarious things to fill a car with:
- Popcorn
- Jello
- Sand
- And my personal favorite: Snakes.
Frozen Waves
This strange weather phenomenon happened in Newfoundland where the waves were actually frozen as they crashed on the beach. Wouldn't want to go surfing that day.
The Ghost Car
This is a pretty cool video. Cops are chasing down a car. During the entire clip I was waiting to see the guy turn off his lights and disappear and thats the ghost car. Was surprised to see the ending and still cant figure out how he did it...
Chevy Impala Cop Chase Commercial
This ad looks a couple years old but its still pretty funny. A Chevy Impala is chasing a couple of masked bank robbers whose car is in pretty bad shape. I bet those new Camero cop cars wish they could do this too. Basically, the cops want to continue the chase!!!
