Adobe Reader 8 as an RSS reader

Adobe Reader 8 is barely a day old, and already savvy Lifehacker readers have started hacking it. Turns out you can use the PDF viewer as a fairly capable RSS reader.

To do so, click the View menu and then choose Review Tracker (a tool intended for managing document reviews). In the Subscriptions window that appears, click the RSS button on the left-hand toolbar, then click the Subscribe button to add a feed.

Make no mistake, no one's going to abandon NewsGator, Google Reader, or any other RSS program for this, but it does work and could prove convenient for anyone who spends a lot of time viewing PDFs. Thanks, Prashanth! — Rick Broida
